Today I feel like I'm going to explode.
Today, I am seeing God' hand in our lives more than I have ever seen His hand in ways that are so beyond my imagination, I can say like Paul and Isaiah, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no one has imagined the way the Lord works for those who love Him." (Isaiah 64:4 and 1st Corinthians 2:9 combined and paraphrased).
Things are happening with our movie, Shots in the Dark, that I cannot go into detail about just yet, except that the Lord is moving faster than I can keep up. I hope to be able to chronicle all that is happening.
I just want to say right now that God is good. When the Bible says no one can imagine the wonderful things He has planned for us, He isn't just talking about the "sweet by and by" by right here, right now when things seem to be the darkest.
One of the ways I know this is by a story in the Bible about Jeremiah. Jeremiah (chapter 32) was being held prisoner by his king, the king of Jerusalem. Outside of the city walls, Jerusalem was being besieged by Nebuchadnezzer. One would not think that was the time to be buying property, but in Jeremiah chapter 32, the Lord tells Jeremiah just that.
Jeremiah is obedient to God and does what he was told, but later we read that Jeremiah complained to the Lord about it.
God answers Jeremiah by saying, "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?" (verse 27) Then God goes into more detail, but for our purposes we can stop right there.
We are living in one of the darkest times that our country has ever seen, and to be honest, the darkness has only just begun. But should we despair and be afraid because of it? No! God's Word is clear in the Old and New Testament.
Jesus tells His disciples, "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!"
Those words were not meant only for His disciples at that time, but they're meant for us too.
And you will find all throughout the Bible, words that encourage us to remember not to be afraid, the battle is the Lord's, that we can do all things through Jesus who strengthens us. Humanly speaking, the odds are stacked against me in this thing the Lord has called me to do, but because I have Jesus, and I know I am living in obedience, I know the Lord will see this through.
