Questions

From the absolute unknown end of the universe, to the smallest particle man has yet to discover, Almighty Eternal God has perfect knowledge. Creating all things, He has knowledge of all things.  The most my body has on earth is, maybe, eighty years, so it's no surprise to me that my comprehension of the incomprehensible God is limited, at the very most. Last Easter Sunday morning, some questions I'd never considered before came to me and I have been pondering them so much that I've wanted to share them.

I take the Bible literally. When God said in Genesis, "let us make man in our image," I believe He meant it, and we are, indeed, like God, but on a much smaller scale. We have, for instance, creativity similar to God. Since we are made in God's image and we have emotions, I believe God has emotions too. Our emotions are a reflection of His.

All throughout the Bible we see God expressing different emotions: love, anger, frustration; and in the New Testament we see Jesus express emotions even more clearly, since He walked the earth as a man.

Now, here are my two questions:

Did God the Father, the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit experience a sense of dread from before Adam and Eve were created all the way up to the time Jesus was arrested that terrible night in the Garden?

Did the "400 years of silence" Israel experienced preceding Jesus' birth have significance to the Three in One that man cannot see or comprehend? Perhaps that time of silence was for God the Father, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and not because of what mankind did or did not do?

Those are my questions. Unanswerable, to be sure, but they are questions I find myself pondering these spring days after Easter. Will they make or break my faith if I never hear an answer? No. I've come too far in my faith in Jesus to ever abandon Him. At least, I ask for the faith I can only receive from Him that will keep me firmly grounded in my faith.

As I ponder these questions, I just know they are questions, and the Lord is pleased when I have questions, even if they are never answered. He gave me a brain. He wants me to use it.
