As I look at the world around me, I see sadness, pain and people hurting other people and animals. It's not hard for me to believe there is a malevolent person out there inspiring others to inflict pain. He's been around longer than the earth and was once one of God's glorious angels. Now he's a terrifying self-centered demon.
And he hates anyone or anything that will give glory to the One and only One who deserves all glory. He hates Jesus, who defeated him when Jesus bore the sins of the entire world. At the time, the enemy thought he'd won, but was shocked to find that what he thought was assured victory for himself was actually victory for the Son of God.
Last week, and until Tuesday of this week, I was extremely sick with a fever, chills, a head ache and all of my nerves seemed to be set on fire. I had infections that I'd never had before. On Monday John took me to a clinic, and they promptly sent me to the emergency room, where my temperature was found to be 102° and my heart rate elevated. They took blood. They took urine. They hooked me up to a saline drip and gave me Morphine and Tylenol. Finally my headache began to subside and by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning the sickness was gone.
I believe I've been under a satanic attack.
Now, when a person lives their lives, maybe going to church on Sunday, but not thinking much about God, the enemy usually leaves that person alone.
I haven't been doing that.
I believe God is calling John and me, along with Charyl and Dennis Armstrong, to make another movie, this one based on another story I have written, Shots in the Dark. John, Dennis and Charyl also believe this and as we trust in the Lord, we are going to see his mighty hand bring this about in such a way that everyone will be completely amazed.
I talked about this in previous blogs called, "It's Never Going to Happen" and "Determined" (both can be found on Weebly, below this blog), so I'm not going into much detail about this, except as it applies to this blog.
Most people who know John and I know that we made another film. That film showed me and John and the others involved, God's mighty hand at work. This film is going to see God's mighty hand at work, because it's going to be God at work in us. None of us really know what we're doing. And to me, that's going to be so obviously God's work in our lives that people won't be able to help but see He is the Mover and the Shaker. We get to be the tools in his hands.
Wow!
And if this is a satanic attack like I think it is, then this recent illness confirms to me that God is calling us. Satan knows what happened with The Death of Kevin Frye, and with this movie, he knows that God's hand will be with us in an even mightier way from the outset. That makes him want to thwart us or intimidate us into not doing it.
But if God calls us to do it, no amount of intimidation is going to stop me from saying yes, because I know that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4). Satan is stronger than me. But God is stronger than satan and if God enables me to do the impossible, then weak me can defeat Satan.
All throughout the Bible there are people who believed God and amazing things happened in their lives:
The shepherd boy was anointed as the next king (1 Sam 16)
The woman killed the enemy commander by driving a tent peg in his head (Judges 4:16-22)
A man went into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion (2 Sam 23:20)
One man killed 800 in one battle (2 Sam 23:8)
The prophet outran the king in his chariot, and that wasn't anything compared to the other things this man did! (1 Kings 18:44-46)
And the list goes on and on.
Gender didn't matter, age didn't matter, and social standing didn't matter. What mattered was that these people dared to believe God and do what was considered impossible.
What about you?
Do you dare believe?
How joyful are those who fear the Lord…they do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. Psalm 112:7-8
