The point is that the Lord was able to use For Pete’s Sake to call me to himself; and now years later, it seems so appropriate that I have that memory (which I’ve not thought of for many years) in my history. I am more convinced as each day passes that the Lord has this call on my life and it’s amazing to have so many little things confirm it even though some might consider it a coincidence. If you’ve spent any time reading my blogs you’ll know that I don’t believe in coincidence no matter how inconsequential the event may seem. There’s divine guidance in every situation, whether we can see it or not.
For these next two weeks, our pastor is out of town. He asked me to lead his Wednesday night class these two Wednesdays and last night was the first of these two. It was a great class with much discussion among the class members. I don’t teach adults. I ask questions and spur on conversations and the adults teach themselves. Last night was one of those exceptional classes in which the Holy Spirit took over.
On the way to leading this class, I began to wonder if there wasn’t something I should be doing beyond praying circles around Ebenezer Films. I got distracted with something or other (I think it was paying attention to my driving) and so forgot about that wonder.
During class, one of the adults there made a very valid statement. He said that we have to be careful not to simply be indulging in wishful thinking. If one is going to believe God will provide a dream in a miraculous way, then that person must be willing to work and do things that may be uncomfortable or hard.
And I agree.
We have to make sure we’re living our lives in obedience to God and the way to do that is by prayer and spending time in the Bible, God’s Word. It’s also going to a church that teaches Biblical principles. We can’t do the Christian walk as hermits. We need our brothers and sisters and we need time together outside of church to strengthen our relationships. God the Father, the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit are the absolute most important factors in a strong Christian walk, but so is fellowship with others who have similar beliefs.
On the way home from the class, I again asked if I shouldn’t be doing something besides praying and walking circles around the church that will house Ebenezer Films. Again, I got distracted, although much more easily than before going to class, because I was tired and I am not at my best at night.
This morning, however, as I walked around the church I asked “Lord, should I be doing something…”
I think the Lord enjoys answering me before I finish my question. He told me that I am doing something. Praying is the most important, most certainly, but the other things I am doing are 1) I am converting the Mole from a novel format to a Screen play, and 2) I am learning this Blender program. What’s exciting is that the Lord is helping me learn it.
Now I’m wondering if the Lord isn’t expanding my vision beyond films. Could it be that he’s calling Ebenezer Films to also be a gaming development company that develops games with a Christian theme?
God only knows. All I know is that I’m in it for the ride of my life!
